The Kelimu Trust
a Kenyan education fund

This is the home of the Kelimu Trust, a fund that supports the education of promising young Kenyans from under-privileged backgrounds.

Education in Kenya begins with eight years of primary school, for which there is no charge.  From the age of 13 or 14, children are expected to move on to secondary school but over half cannot raise the fees to do so.  This is where the Kelimu Trust comes in. The Trust was set up to give bright children from poor homes a chance in life - to help them get an education, an opportunity and a new future.

We focus on children from wildlife conflict areas and currently support around 65 children from the Maungu and Kasigau area adjacent to Tsavo East National Park and the Rukinga Wildlife Sanctuary in south-eastern Kenya (click here for a map).

Welcome!

Selection underway!

We are currently selecting the new intake of children for secondary school sponsorship. Check back in February 2012 for details.
